The
City Plows can’t be everywhere at the same time so when the snow is
falling it is very important to keep Emergency routes and primary roads
open and passable. We start with Third St, and Fifth St. from the hospital
to Broadway. That gives access to the hospital from Broadway. Broadway is
an east west emergency route maintained by the state highway department.
The
city crews would then clear Brumfield Ave, the Brumfield over pass, Main
St and the South Main overpass this gives emergency crews two east west
routes and a north south route with an overpass in case a train is on the
tracks. Also notice that the Princeton Fire Station is located on an east
west emergency route.
The
next emergency route to be cleared would be Spring Street from Broadway to
Main St, this gives access to the south west side of town. At the same
time the crews plow Spring St. they would continue east on Mulberry to
give the south end better access to an emergency routes.
As
the snow is falling it is important to keep the above-mentioned routes
open and passable. As the snow lets up other primary routes and secondary
roads with hills and dangerous curves would come next, and as soon as
possible the city crews would start on all secondary roads and widening
primary roads. (Plowing the snow farther off the roads making the
plowed roads wider.)
As
city crews plow snow off streets it is impossible to not plow snow into
driveway entrances. It would not be feasible to lift the plow at every
driveway. We apologize for any inconvenience.
